In 1984, the property that would become C.B. Hobbs Fields, was deeded to the District by the estate of C.B. Hobbs with the condition that recreational facilities be built to benefit the community. Developed in 1986 from the town's original water storage reservoir, C.B. Hobbs Field has been the home field for numerous Little League, adult softball, and traveling teams.
In the late 1980s, a grant was obtained to develop the property into the current ball field, snack bar, and restrooms. Around 2009, a grant was obtained to pave the driveway and a portion of the parking lot. The District provided the balance of the funds to pave the entire parking lot with ADA parking and striped parking spaces.
In 1997, C.B. Hobbs Field became an Emergency Medical Service Landing Site.
Plans to further improve the field are currently being developed.
