In the early 1980s, the horse arena and restrooms were constructed through a grant and volunteer labor. In 1998, the property adjoining the horse arena was added for a parking lot.
D.K. Lawson volunteered many, many hours over many years to dragging the horse arena and the driveway to the ball field. In honor of his many years of work, the Board of Directors voted to name the horse arena after him.
